Case Study, Feature Implementation

StubHub Connect

Problem.

In comparison to its competitors, StubHub lacked many features that enhance the mobile ticketing experience. At the time of the case study, StubHub’s platform did very little to suggest shows, games, and events tailored to its users’ interests. By curating lists of events specific to user interests and adding informational tools about these events, StubHub could provide users a more meaningful experience resulting in increased customer traffic and ticket sales.

My Role.

While working on this project, I was able to build out entirely new interfaces and modify existing screens native to the StubHub app. This project was done through a UX bootcamp mentorship program and was overseen by a UX professional. The case study was supported by tried and true methods such as secondary and user research, ideation, high and low fidelity screen design, and validation.

Tools used: Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator

Solution.

As a result of competitor analysis and ideation, I added a few features to the StubHub app to enhance the ticket buying experience. In an effort to help users find events tailored to their interests, a feature to import 3rd party user preferences was added. Users could now import sports data (ESPN, Bleacher Report) and music data (Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora) and receive preference driven suggestions based on their activity in these apps.

Additionally, review sections were added to event listings. In these sections, ticket buyers can read and leave reviews on different events that they’ve attended. This feature will allow users to gain a full understanding of different events before choosing to attend. Users can add photos and tag locations to their reviews to help qualify their words.
